In reply to “Israeli Way of War Inherently Criminal,” by Uri Avnery, 07/20/09:
“Breaking the Silence, and the use of depleted uranium and other carcinogenic substances.”
The above part of what otherwise seemed a well reasoned article is false — Depleted Uranium was not used in Gaza just like it was not used in Lebanon. The UN Environment Programme went to extreme lengths to determine if DU was used in Lebanon. It found that no DU was used and that no other form of processed uranium was used. The report is extensive, just as the testing of 32 sites was also extensive.

In reply to “Obama’s War Signals,” by Justin Raimondo, 07/17/09:
Dear Mr. Raimondo,
Over the years your column has predicted that a war with Iran is just around the corner. Maybe it always has been, absent only a trigger to get it under way. Certainly Israel would like America to do its bidding — they view Iran’s increasing influence in the region [as] a threat.
But isn’t posturing and macho rhetoric by the three nations involved a way for the protagonists to appear as strong leaders? In fact isn’t it a campaign tool used to help each participant get reelected?

In reply to “Clinton: US Won’t Hesitate to Use Military Against Iran,” by Jason Ditz, 07/15/09:
“Despite a stark lack of evidence, that Iran is working on nuclear weapons. The IAEA has pointed out no evidence for the accusation exists.”
First of all, your link conveniently doesn’t work. Second of all, the statement is completely and utterly false. The IAEA has warned of Iranian nuclear proliferation for years. A quick visit to their website would have given you this information.
